Get two varieties of marigold in one packet!

Each packet contains some Aztec Mexican Marigold (Tagetes erecta) seeds and some Nematocidal Marigold (Tagetes patula) seeds. Both are great repellent plants for common garden insect pests, but the Nematocidal Marigold performs best in this regard, containing the highest concentration of alpha-terthienyl out of all currently available marigolds.

***For maximum nematode repellency, plant marigolds in the same spot you plan to grow your vegetable crops. Allow the marigolds to grow for 2-3 months, then remove the marigolds and plant your main crops in that same spot.***

Marigolds are also great companion plants for a variety of garden vegetables (basil, beans, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, eggplant, gourds, kale, potatoes, squash, and tomatoes). The petals are edible, too, and make for a colorful addition to raw salads.

Both marigold cultivars can grow up to 2’-5’ tall. Mexican marigold produces beautiful orange and yellow blossoms throughout summer and mid-fall. Nematocidal Marigold produces smaller yellow flowers, which begin to bloom (and stay in bloom) slightly later than the Mexican marigold.

Plant in full sun after last frost. Direct seed at a depth of 1/4” with 6-8” spacing. Mature spacing: 18-24.” Sprouts in 5-10 days. Ideal soil temp: 70-80 degrees F. Self-seeding annual

Grown using veganic practices (no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, and no domesticated animal inputs; just natural compost and love). These seeds are open-pollinated and grown in Western North Carolina in 2021.

Comes in recycled paper seed packet and envelope.
